TERMS AND CONDITIONS

WAIVER

Use of the YMCA of Chilton County (YMCA) facilities and participation in sports or other physically demanding activities inherently expose the participant to a certain degree of risk of personal injury, illness, and other adverse medical consequences. The YMCA is not an insurer of a member’s life or personal safety. No participant will engage in activities which require a level of physical fitness exceeding the participant’s physical condition or abilities, as determined by the participant. Every participant assumes the risk of personal injury, illness, or other condition arising out of or related to the participant’s activity on YMCA premises.

I agree to release the National Council of Young Men’s Christian Association of the United States of America and its independent and autonomous member association of the U.S and Puerto Rico from claims of negligence or bodily injury or death in connections with the use of YMCA facilities and from any liability for other claims including loss of property to fullest extent of the law.

I give permission to the personnel of the YMCA to video, photograph, make a voice recording or motion picture of me and/or my minor/children, to be used in connection with the internet, printed material, visual or auditory presentation, or to use in a depiction of a team activity.  Also, these items will be exclusive property of the YMCA of Chilton County.

RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All members are subject to regular sex offender screenings against a national database.  The YMCA of Chilton County reserves the right to revoke any membership. The protection of our members and guests participating in our programs and/or using our facilities is of paramount interest of the YMCA. The association reserves the right to deny access to membership to any person who has been accused or convicted of any crime involving sexual abuse; is a registered sex offender; habitually or excessively uses narcotics or dangerous drugs; has ever been convicted of any offense relating to the use, sale, possession, or transportation of narcotics or habit forming and/or dangerous drugs; or continuously or excessively using intoxicating beverages. The YMCA of Greater Birmingham may ask for a photo for our electronic records. Members will be expected to present their membership card upon each visit to a YMCA facility. Membership privileges and cards are not transferable Membership dues, activation fees and program fees are subject to change. Due to seasons and member traffic, individual branches may place specific restrictions on time and days that guest may visit

CODE OF CONDUCT

At the YMCA of Chilton County, we expect staff, members and guests to behave in accordance with our mission and values at all times, respecting the rights and dignity of others. At the YMCA we demonstrate Respect, Responsibility, Caring, and Honesty by:

  •  Speaking in respectful tones, refraining from the use of vulgar or derogatory language, and dressing appropriately.
  •  Resolving conflicts in a respectful, honest and caring manner; never resorting to physical contact or threatening gestures.
  •  Respecting others by refraining from intimate behavior in public; abstaining from contact of a sexual nature.
  •  Respecting the property of others; never engaging in theft or destruction.
  •  Creating a safe, caring environment; never carrying firearms or weapons.
  •  Participating in programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body; never engaging in the use, sale, dispensing or possession of illegal drugs or narcotics or the unsanctioned use of alcohol on YMCA premises.

Adherence to the YMCA Code of Conduct and regulations is essential.

Noncompliance may result in suspension or termination of YMCA employment and/or membership privileges.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Membership dues, activation fees, and program fees are subject to change. After the initial 30-day period, membership resignation shall be effective thirty (30) days after receipt of written notification and payment of all sums which have become due and payable up to resignation. The activation fee is a non-refundable one-time fee as long as you remain an active member of the YMCA of Chilton County without a break in membership. Any discrepancies regarding member cancellation must be reported to the YMCA of Chilton County within 30 days of the member’s original written request to cancel. Discrepancies outside of that date will not be the responsibility of the YMCA of Chilton County and are not subject to a refund. **Any payment Returned or Declined for any reason will be assessed up to a $15 return fee and reprocessed up to 3 attempts————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Upon completing registration of any kind and providing personal information, either electronically or face to face, patrons attest the information is correct and truthful. 

  • Registrants attest that all active members are household members and/or legal dependents.
  • Registrants attest they are 18 years of age or older
  • Registrants attest they are the authorized user of the payment information provided 
  • Registrants agree to the above Terms and Conditions on behalf of all members/participants listed
